Pearls and Pitfalls
- Use a microsagittal saw when harvesting the patellar end of the patellar tendon graft. Use of a mallet and osteotome may result in a chondral lesion on the trochlea and/or patella. A trochlea lesion secondary to this mechanism seen at the time of subsequent surgery in the figure below.
