Carl T. Brighton Workshops

About ABJS Carl T. Brighton Workshop

Conceived by Carl T. Brighton, MD, PhD, then the Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research® (CORR), the annual ABJS Carl T. Brighton Workshop is a state-of-the-art workshop in which experts discuss, debate, and reach consensus on a timely orthopaedic topic.

Dr. Brighton proposed that the workshop would include an invited participation of approximately 30 people representing “the best and the brightest” in the chosen topic area. The ideas explored and the conclusions drawn from the presentations and discussion are submitted as manuscripts for publication as a CORR supplement, with an Editorial written by the Workshop Chairs, who also serve as Guest Editors. Beginning in 2011, video presentations from the ABJS Carl. T. Brighton Workshop are also posted on OrthopaedicsOne.

Each Workshop asks the following questions on the selected topic:  Where are we now? Where do we need to be? How do we get there? During presentations and discussion, the participants reach consensus in answering those questions.
