Answer (click for answer)
The correct answer is 4.
Femoral bone defects are typically either cavitary or segmental. There are six categories of femoral bone deficiencies 1) Segmental – any loss of bone of the supporting shell of the femur; 2) cavitary – loss of endosteal bone but an intact cortical shell; 3) combined deficiency – combined segmental and cavitary defects; 4) malalignment – loss of femoral geometry due to prior surgery, trauma or disease; 5) stenosis – occlusion of canal from trauma, fixation devices or bony hypertrophy; 6) femoral discontinuity – loss of femoral integrity from fracture or nonunion.
