Synopsis
100 patients with knee osteoarthritis were randomized to undergo total knee arthroplasty (TKA) via either a minimally invasive subvastus approach or a conventional peri-patellar surgical approach. At 3 year follow up, it was observed that the minimally invasive subvastus approach provided better results of Knee Society scores and improved range of motion of total knee arthroplasty compared to the conventional approach.
