Location

The lateral elbow, the site of original of the common extensor tendon (comprising the extensor carpi radialis brevis; the extensor digitorum; the extensor digiti minimi and most importantlyly, the extensor carpi radialis brevis)

Significance

This is the site of the "lateral epicondylitis" (misnamed, as it is not inflammatory) aka "tennis elbow". The extensor carpi radialis brevis extends the wrist and stabilizes the wrist for grasp. With tennis elbow, the lateral elbow is tender to touch and focal pain is produced by forcing the wrist into flexion against resistance.
